Character Name
Cherry Milerand
Gender
Female
Race
Lamini
Character Age
370 (appears 20)
Build
5"4 / 102 lbs. Very light frame, slim wrists, round shoulders. She doesn't have a bust to kill for, but nor is she particularly poor in endowment. Doesn't look to be the "childbearing type", as she has narrow hips and thin legs. Very youthful, feminine face.
Character Appearance: Cherry is of the Lamini variety with Teal skin, rather than green. Even for a Lamini, her skin is particularly lightly tinged, the Teal looking like more of a bluish tint on white skin rather than full-on teal. However, it is hardly unnoticeable, and is often the first physical feature that jumps out at those who meet her for the first time - pale or not, blue skin is still blue skin.
Traditionally for a Lamini with Teal pigmentation, her eyes are a vibrant, bright green color, and they shine with ever-present mischief, planning, and an imagination that can spiral out of control. There is an ever-[resent spark of playful life in those eyes, which has proven in many occasions to be inextinguishable.
Her hair is dusky, burgundy red color, and falls easily down to past her shoulders, not quite mid-back length, but close to it. It isn't what you would call silky, but it is most definitely smooth. She washes it regularly, and does her utmost to maintain it.
Cherry has a shapely figure, thanks to her strong health and a habit of taking good care of herself. She'll always be the first to thank the Goddesses for her narrow, neat bone structure, but will also be the first to acknowledge that without taking proper care of it, you can blame no one but yourself if you don't look good.
Perhaps the most prominent feature of Cherry, however, is her sense of fashion. She has an incredibly vast repertoire of outfits, many of which she has only worn once before stuffing it back into her clothing hammerspace (an interdimensional closet, similar to the kind that many keep weapons and the like in, which she paid very handsomely for upon her escape from the Cowell Residence (see below)).
Her tastes in fashion are intensely varied, and she claims to have an outfit for literally any and every occasion. These clothing examples range from the practical yet fashionable choices of Sleeveless shirts and mini skirts to the extravagant, frilly, and lacy designs of legendary designers, the works of which she tends to wear to her "Rich Snob Parties".
However, one of her favorite outfits (evidenced by her wearing it on at least five separate occasions), is a V-necked, sleeveless black top with a small, white, upturned collar around the neck area, complimented with a dark blue, semi-short skirt with a series of chain-like accessories dangling from the waste. The ensemble includes a pair of black leggings, a pair of large-looking Blue boots (decorated with various emblems, which are supposedly cool). It includes black wrist-bands, which each have a long, scarf-like cloth dangling from them, trailing down nearly to the ground when her arms are at rest. Tied to the tips of these scarves are two round weights (she praises the outfit for being fashionable, practical, and deadly). she leaves her hair down in this one, as opposed to most of her outfits where she does something or other to it, and tends to complete the look with a pair of star-shaped earrings.
Special Power/Ability: Rapid Healing. Cherry's blood is an oddity, in that it keeps her almost abnormally healthy. Her immune system is virtually impervious to foreign illness. However, the most remarkable trait of this blood is that she can heal from Non-fatal wounds in anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours, depending on the severity of the wound, as if it were never there. To be clear, she cannot regenerate a lost appendage, nor can she bring herself back to life if killed. Anything else is completely irrelevant to her.
By donating her blood to someone else, she can even temporarily speed up the healing process of the recipient, as well as strengthen their immune system.
Personality: Cherry is... interesting, to say the least. She is playful, crafty, wise beyond her years, creative, daring, curious, hardworking, somewhat upstanding, and most of all, adventurous.
Cherry isn't above random, pointless teasing for the sake of amusement, and does this frequently with her friends, or to those who she thinks she can be friendly with. She is a very potent planner when she wants to be, and has practiced a large variety of different methods with dealing with situations and people over the course of her life. She loves to experience new and interesting things, and is very interested in the goings on of other people's lives, due to one of her greatest pleasures: gossip. She'll talk about anyone and everyone whenever the chance to do so arises. And she'll do it without shame. In fact. the very reason she even deigns to attend rich parties, despite her dislike of rich people, is so that she can get new, juicy information.
Of course, she does have a code of ethics. She comes from a very rich family, but despite this, is quite the opposite of spoiled - she believes in an honest day's work, and likes to avoid using her family's money whenever possible, despite easily being able to use those funds whenever she sees fit (her parents tried to spoil her. she just wouldn't let them). She does seem to have a double-standard with this, however, when it comes to clothes. Her attitude in taht regard is to spend whatever necessary to get the outfit she has her eye on. She's also very much in love with money and treasure, and is admittedly greedy in that regard. How she manages to cope with being greedy and money-hungry, while refusing to use a veritable fortune that lies right in her back pocket is anyone's guess. At any rate, she loves tracking down money for herself, and as such, has a habit of spelunking. Treasure-Hunting is one of the most rewarding experiences the world has to offer in the book of Cherry.
Speaking of, she's always wanted to try her hand at writing a book.
She loves people. How different they are, what kinds of reactions she can pull from them, the varying types of personalities, etc, etc. One of her favorite casual passtimes is making pointless conversation with strangers, just to see where the conversation will steer.
She's noticeably friendly to strangers, at that, easily talking to someone she has just met as though she's known them for years, and is a very chatty individual. If one does not stop her, she may very well go on for hours about a completely unimportant, out of nowhere topic of conversation.
Lastly, her daring, adventurous side manifests itself in the love for exploration There was a time when she traveled solely for the purpose of evading a possible hunter on her heels, but the lines have since blurred considerably, and she does it for the love of seeing new places.
Show this girl a good time, and you'll likely have a friend for life. Weather you like it or not. When she sees someone she wants to be friends with, she goes for it, without a thought for their say in the matter.
Sexual Orientation Bi-Sexual
Likes: Gossip, conversation, fruit, fashion, chance, gambling, treasure-hunting, people.
Dislikes: Meat, tacky style, unpreparedness.
History: Cherry was born to a pair of Lamini Nobles in Malscure, but never stayed long enough for her to have retained any significantly early memories of it. Her family was incredibly wealthy, and always on the move via an Artavian invention known as an "Airship". They were one of the few Noble families in all of Setsuwa at the time who owned one, albeit it having a very primitive, in-progress design. Growing up, she was always very bored. With her family always on the move, she never had a chance to settle and meet any friends. Having no siblings, and with the rest of Noble House of Milerand currently living in Liesdro of all places, she was cursed to loneliness and boredom seemingly forever.
One day, however, her parents happened to stop in Malscure, her birthplace, and she had heard that the Lamini such as herself were some of the first People to live in this land. The very idea of it sent a thrill through her young, stifled mind, and her curiosity getting the better of her, she clambered out of the Ship (where she had been instructed to wait patiently) and explored. She wandered all over the land, driving her parents mad with worry.
By the time she was found, she had so fallen in love with this country she barely knew anything of, that she insisted she be allowed to stay, and wouldn't hear anything otherwise.
Her parents were put in a difficult spot. They cared very deeply for their only daughter, but at the same time, they very much valued their public image, and the rambunctious Cherry had never much helped to improve that image during their public appearances. They were also pressed for time, and didn't have the time to sit down and really discuss it with her. After some begrudging agreement, a kiss from Mommy Dearest, a sack full of money, and a promise to return should she give the word, the parents took their reluctant leave of their daughter.
Cherry promptly took the money to pay for a small cottage in Aarunia Village, paid to have it mildly furnished, and then threw the rest of the money down a well. This was the start of her independent attitude regarding her own support. The very next day, she set out to find a job. Many shopkeepers didn't want to hire her due to her young age, but she insisted that she was much older than she looked, which was technically true, considering she was of Lamini descent.
Eventually, she landed a job as a shopkeeper and worked happily, telling her parents that she still wanted to stay when they came back for her the following Month. They assured her that they would keep coming back until she wanted to come home, a promise they kept dutifully. When it became apparent that this was very unlikely, they instead tried to persuade her to at least make use of the Family Fortune, there being no reason why she had to live like common folk. This too, she refused. However, she came to a pseudo-agreement with her mother that she could at the very least spend decent money on clothing - she was more than happy to abide by that rule.
Time passed on and on, and on her 354th Birthday, she met a young Succubus who appeared to need medical attention. She had come stumbling into the shop she was currently working at, bloody and bruised, and when asked about it, she kept saying it was nothing and that she had walked in by mistake.
Cherry took immediate action and took her to a hospital, asking the Nurses to give the Succubus a blood transfusion from Cherry. The girl, Trina, woke up later that evening, somewhat ticked off that she had been rescued, and didn't speak to her.
However, after days of visits (which took place outside the hospital, thanks to Trina' early release from a speedy, cherry-blooded recovery), Cherry eventually got Trina to reveal that she had been fighting a large gang of thieves who had been stealing money and goods from a shopkeeper she knew. She had known she was in over her head, but did it anyway. She also told Cherry that she hated talkative people, but didn't mind her so much.
The two formed a friendship later on, and began to hang out on a daily basis, Cherry shooting the breeze pointlessly with random remarks most of the time while Trina just stood and listened.
About a year later, they came across a girl being beat up by a group of children who had smashed her instrument - a clear street performer's clash. At suggestion that they help her, Trina rushed in to beat the hell out of the group, much to Cherry's chagrin, who had wanted a more peaceful solution. After having taken care of the girl for a while, she too became a good friend of the two, and Cherry and Trina managed to replace her Cello, which the children had destroyed.
After working all over Malscure's shops, she was taken notice of by a waiter in the Cowell Castle, who informed her that her efficiency would be well-rewarded should she work as a maid there. Cherry took the offer, delighted, at the prospect of new, exciting work. However, things immediately made a turn for the worse. The Lord of the castle, Tristan Cowell, was to be wed to one Miss Tehodis Kitai. Cherry had looked forward to the event, as she had spent all day preparing the castle for her master's return with his blushing bride, hoping for a nice bonus. What she got instead was the fury of a man scorned and left at the alter, which ended up with her being tortured in a jail cell deep beneath the castle.
Eventually, she managed to escape, in one of the most frightening experiences of her life, and made way to the first Ship out of Malscure she could find; it's destination: Liesdro. From that point on, she adopted the lifestyle of someone who moves around a lot and never settles - after all, Tristan Cowell was one of the most dangerous men in all of Setsuwa, and also one of the most unpredictable. She had no way of knowing if she would be able to relax, or if he had already sent men after her upon discovering her escape. She began to live in a state of paranoia for a brief time. However, one fateful night at the New Year's Ballroom, and a reuniting with Trina showed her that living in fear of something that might happen was completely ridiculous.
Since then, she has lived to enjoy life, never fully dropping her guard, but getting out and seeing the world more. Her family, the House of Milerand, has also seen her more often as of late, and are quite impressed with how ladylike she has become (of course, this is mostly her "snobbish" act, as she so calls it).
