Character Name: Jack Quinzel
Gender: Male
Race: Contrarian
Character Age: 73
Height/Build: Constantly Changing, Favorite form is 5' 9" and weighs 143 Lbs
Character Appearance: Being a Contrarian, Jack can change form at will. Truthfully, Jack has forgotten if he ever had a "true" form, but a favorite that he has become accustomed to using is a clown wearing a dark hooded cloak. As he enjoys telling others, "Everyone enjoys a clown."
The clown's one piece suit is blood red on the right side, while being as black as night on the left. The clown's makeup is a ghostly white, with an exaggerated red smile on the face. The decorations around the eyes are jet black stars with the eyes in the center of each. The eyes themselves constantly change color in an almost mesmerizing effect. The clown's face is narrow and sharp, with exaggerated features. The nose is very sharp looking, protruding a few inches from the face. The hair is jet black, short and greased back. The whole body is of average height and build. It is not fat, nor is it muscular. The form appears to be around 30.
Special Power/Ability: Being a Contrarian, Jack has some mind reading abilities. However, Jack is especially tuned in to the fears of others and the darkest parts of their minds
Personality: Like all Contrarians, Jack feeds off of the negative emotions of others. However, no other emotion satisfies him like fear. He desires only to cause fear, and to break the minds of others. His only goal in life is to bring insanity to a relatively sane world.
He uses the greatest fears of his victim to drive them insane, breaking them down to a shadow of their former self. However, he rarely kills his victims, for he wants the world to be filled with the people like the ones he breaks. Whenever he meets a new person, he immediately delves into their minds. He learns their darkest fears before engaging them. The next thing he does is determine whether or not they are useful to him. If they are, he charms them, gaining their trust until their usefulness is spent. If they are not useful to him, then he simply breaks their mind.
If there is one thing that Jack dislikes, its bravery, those with a high resilience to his words and even attempt to turn his own trick against him. Although, he thinks of most of these people as challenges, and Jack always welcomes a challenge. If, however, the person proves too strong for his tricks, he simply kills them. If he even fails to do that, he leaves his mark on them, a smiley face scar.
He has since lost count of the people that he has broken.
Sexual Orientation: Bi-Sexual
Likes: Jack loves all that is madness, fear and chaos. He takes pleasure in breaking the minds of his victims.
Dislikes: Jack loathes bravery, resilience, and order. He only kills his potential victims if he cannot fully break their minds, or if it could cause fear to another person.
History: Jack Quinzel was born in northern Muerte to his two parents, Granth and Sal-mina Quinzel. As soon as he could talk, Jack began honing his skills of reading the deepest fears of other people. At the age of 7, Jack caused his parents to kill themselves, and caused his neighbors to go insane. At the age of 15, Jack grew bored of Muerte and decided to leave. He traveled everywhere he could, causing fear and chaos to all he could find.
Jack's 42nd birthday came with a delightful surprise. He had come across a traveling clown attempting to entertain some children on a street corner. The children screamed and ran away from the clown, and Jack knew he was in love. He followed the clown to it's house, tip-toed in at night, and promptly killed it. He then modeled his new body after a clown, making sure it looked like the clown he killed, but with more exaggerated features.
Jack later became a nobleman's jester, getting the job because of his clown appearance. During his first day on the job, Jack caused the nobleman to kill everyone else in the room, Jack all the while humming the tune of his favorite song, "Moonlight Sonata".
At the age of 58, Jack felt something he had never felt before, loneliness. Suddenly, he felt the greatest urge to find a wife. He did, and after a wonderful honeymoon night, his wife committed suicide. 7 wives later, Jack no longer felt lonely and continued on his way to break more minds.
Jack has since settled in Dirys, he has found that the upper class and nobility have relatively fragile minds. His ongoing quest to "liberate" people from the shackles of sanity continues, and he is now searching for stronger minds to break.

Roleplay Example: Jack walked down the town's street. He had forgotten the name of the town, or he never learned it, he couldn't remember. Some people are afraid of forgetting things, important things. He guessed the time to be near midnight. There were no street lamps in this particular town, so it was very dark in the street. Most people are afraid of the dark. They believe that there are monsters in the dark, ghosts and ghoulies that would swallow them up before the morning came. However, there was only Jack.
Jack found a pub that was still open. He decided to enter, but not for a drink. Some people are afraid of alcohol; they believe it will kill them. Others are afraid of not having alcohol, for they believe they will die without it. Jack smiled underneath his hood as he opened the door to the small pub. There were only three people in the smoky room, and one of them was passed out cold. The second one was the bartender, a nervous man with a fear of drowning and carnivals. He also became faint at the sight of blood. He was a kind, caring man whose wife committed suicide three months before in this very pub. A kind of man Jack had been looking for the entire day. The third man was Jack Quinzel, standing silently in the doorway to the pub, probing the mind of the unknowing bartender. The bartender looked up from his book. Some people are afraid of books, for they are illiterate. The bartender looked at the cloaked man in the doorway, trying to make out his face through the smoke and darkness.
“Looking for a drink?” He asked in a tired voice.
“No thank you,” said Jack as he crossed the room toward the bartender, “but I would like something to wash this makeup off my face. You see, I just got back from entertaining at the new carnival that just set up outside of town.”
“A c-carnival, you say?” said the bartender, nervously. “I d-didn’t know there was a c-carnival in town.” Jack learned from his mind delving that the man was nearly killed at a carnival when he was a boy.
“Oh yes.” Continued Jack as he removed his hood to reveal his pointy features and clown makeup. “It just set up today and I have been working like craaaazy. Do you have a water bowl and washcloth that I could use?” The man stood transfixed at Jack’s face, not knowing whether to scream or laugh at it. “Hellooo? Washcloth and water bowl?” Jack snapped his fingers at the man.
“O-oh!” Exclaimed the bartender as he exited the trance of the clown’s ever changing eyes. He quickly fetched what the clown asked for and placed them on the counter.
“Ah thank you so very much!” Said Jack as he picked up the washcloth and dipped it in the water. He began to wipe his face and, to the sheer horror of the bartender and the great expectance of Jack, the makeup did not come off. “Much better, don’t you think?” Asked Jack to the bartender, who was at this moment holding back a terrified scream.
“What’s the matter?” Asked Jack, cocking his head. “Don’t I look pretty?” Jack’s face slowly began to transform into the face of the bartender’s dead wife. Jack had learned that people respond more to slow transformations than quick ones.
The bartender let out a horrific scream before falling to the floor. Jack Closed his eyes and began feeding off of the fear the man was producing. It was splendid, simply delightful. Jack began to leave the pub when he noticed the drunken man had awoken to the bartender’s screams. The man was terribly afraid of spiders. Nearly everyone is. Jack proceeded to make his skin look like spiders were crawling underneath, and looked at the man with a look of pain. He let out a low groan. “Ohhhh, the spiders are back.” He said. The man immediately fainted, but not before soiling himself.
Jack walked to the entrance, turned around, and with a quick “Ta-ta!” he slammed the door. Jack smiled, he had successfully left a grown man in the fetal position and made another soil themselves. He felt full from all of the fear he had consumed, and hummed “Moonlight Sonata” as he skipped into the night.
