TL;DR: When you make a new thread you are roleplaying within any given time period, and you write the date/time as determined by the time period. Each character must have a time-journal where you can mark down what times you've been doing things etc.
Having time set up as you will notice it is (a specific segment in time being the current period in which roleplay is taking place) allows the player to both have your character in several threads at once and still keep a linear timeline of what is happening!
You can find the current week at the top of the site in the announcements section. Remember, this does no coordinate with real-time! For example, the New Year's Ball will not show up on OUR New Year's, but instead where it would appear in the Setsuwan timeline.
And that brings us to Time Stamps and Time Journals.
Time stamping gives you and other roleplayers that are involved in the game a clear picture of when events are taking place. So, stamp your threads with a date and time in the first post - and possibly later on in the roleplay if you perform a timeskip. It's quite simple, but just in case it's not as clear as I think it is, here's a quick example.
Timestamp: Moncera 2nd, 2009 at 5:00AM
You can format it however you'd like, so long as you make sure you have the information you need!
Now the only question remaining is how to keep things simpler, so you don't have to scroll through all of your roleplays looking for what times you still have available. The answer? Time journals! These are simply threads where you include what times you have used up, and what times you have available. If you have multiple characters you can choose to have them all in the same thread, or in separate threads. Click here for time-journals!
Now what if you have a roleplay going on, and then the week changes? Do you lose that roleplay? Not at all. We just know that it's in the past, and that's all! You have as much time as you want to finish a roleplay, no questions asked.
I think that covers everything, if you have any questions, however, feel free to PM me and I'll reply to you as soon as I humanly can.

Since this is helpful with building a straightforward timeline, I like this.

I love this. One of the best additions to the site.
