This is the item directory for the world of Setsuwa. It is an ever changing resource of materials, weapons and more. The directory is separated into three different sections: Weapons/Protective Items, Pets and Other Items. In order to find something more quickly, use the CTRL+F feature on your keyboard and use the following table of contents to jump ahead or type in a specific item.

ATK: The physical attack power of a weapon.
MAG: The magical attack power of a weapon.
AER: The aerodynamic quality of an item, seen on projectiles like bullets, arrows and cannonballs.
SPE: This quality measures the firing speed on items such as guns and bows, and also measures the power of an item being thrown - daggers, axes and the like.
DEF: The defensive power of the item, this determines how good the item is at defending against physical attacks only.
SPR: The spirit power of the item, which determines how good the item is at defending against magical attacks only.
DUR: The durability of an item, the higher this is, the longer the item can last.
WGT: The weight of the item.
Item qualities are measured in values from 0-99. For a simple understanding of the numbering:
00-00 - Non-Existant 01-10 - Basic 11-30 - Improved 31-50 - Good 51-65 - Strong 66-80 - Rare 91-98 - Legendary 99-99 - Unbreakable/Unpenetrable/Immune
This is a quick-and-dirty guide to how pets work. Essentially a pet will use it's OWNER'S stats as usual, but the stats that the pet has (which will be detailed on your Character Status page) will add onto those stats as if the Pet was a weapon.
This is NOT something you're required to think about while using your pet. It's just an additional something for those of you interested in applying extra strength to your pet. [/blockquote]

Abjurer's Staff
| Offensive Close Range Magical Enhancement
| | A staff that augments defensive spell-casting. Skilled magic-users can use it to form protective circles almost instantly... But spell-slinging from inside the circle becomes impossible as well.
Improves the potency of defensive magic. If WIS equals >250, the user can create a protective circle around themselves. If WIS equals >600 the user can create protective circles around buildings or open areas.

This shield can allow the user to summon a wall of water, which will deflect projectiles and can last for up to two posts. It cannot be used multiple times in quick succession without straining the user.

Aegis of the Stone Fist

This shield can allow the user to nullify magic within the vicinity of it that will last for up to two posts. It cannot be used multiple times in quick succession without heavily straining the user.

| | A fancy and obviously expensive, bow decorated with silken feathers from a golden bird. It has the most intense firing power of any (mass-produced) bow in Setsuwa - and it becomes even more powerful when the wielder is adept in magic.
When the user's WIS is greater than 350, boost the offensive stats of the arrows it fires by 10.

Ameth
| Magical Enhancement
| | This wood-and-glass staff is a beautiful piece for any collection... But it has it's other uses. It allows you to take control of any enemy for a short time, allowing you to do anything to them with it. Of course, it is illegal throughout all the lands... So if you do, you're likely to be found, arrested and executed. You might think twice of carrying this on your person.
The user of this staff can take full control of another individual, giving them literally any command which they will be forced to follow without question during their next ONE post. This item requires 75 Posts or a Fate Point to recharge.

Angelic Rod

| | This beautiful rod is the length of a grown male forearm in length, but as thin as the delicate wrist of a female... Don't let that fool you, however, this rod is far from delicate. The Angelic Rod's holiness allows for one to attack with all the goodness of the world in sharp, battering strikes. It doesn't hurt this weapon's popularity that it looks good on the wall of any modern dining room.
Cannot be used by Dark/Death class. +5 is added to this weapon's attack when used by a Heavenly/Light class.

Antiochan Hand Axe

| Magical Enhancement
| | An ancient relic that can increase the defensive power of a suit of armor, but makes it weight more, causing the wearer to move more slowly.
Adds +15 to the DEF and SPR of any equipped piece of armor, but also increases the WGT stat by +20. Whatever damage the armor endures, this talisman also endures.

Arondight
| Legendary Offensive Close Range
| | Many centuries ago, when the world began, the power of a long-dead deity crafted the sword of Arondight. Arondight is a very light sword, easy to hold and handle, even if lacking slightly in strength... It seems to give off a slight glow and it sparks when it makes contact with a target. The hilt is decorated with intricate, thread-like designs that seem jagged and delicate all at once - and the blade is covered in written text from a dead language. It is said the only blade sharper in the world is the Frostbite, which is no match for the strength and weight of Arondight.
Emits a glow, allowing this weapon to be used as a light source.

Artavian Hand Cannon
| Offensive Long Range
| | One of the newer technologies from Artavia, this weapon uses highly pressurized air to propel an object at a high velocity. The user holds the weapon with one hand, using a handle on top, while they pull a trigger in the back with the other hand. It uses large metal balls as ammunition, but almost anything can be fired out of it. The weight of the weapon requires a strong wielder.
Uses cannonballs as ammo, other on-hand objects may be used but will be destroyed. Requires minimum 100 STR to carry. Will not work underwater.

| | Originally forged by a vampiric cult, these blades possess an ability to drain the life from those that it cuts - replenishing the user at the same time. Unfortunately, in the hands of those unable to withstand death it drains the life from the user instead.
Can only be wielded by DEATH class. 5% of the damage inflicted by this weapon will restore the health of the user.

Chaos Bow

| | A demonic bow that seems to be of no help in battle... But with each foe it slays, an arrow shot through it becomes more powerful. It is as of yet unknown what becomes of a soul when used in this ghastly ritual, leaving this bow to be banned throughout all Setsuwa.
Increase the ATK stat of arrows fired by this bow by +15 for each non-NPC that is killed using this bow - to a maximum of 98.

Charged Cudgels

| | A pair of electrically charged cudgels. The spheroids are a bright yellow colour, wrapped in a iron-pronged halo with an insulated chain binding the two clubs together. They can release electricity upon your enemy when used in the hands of someone magically talented.
When wielded by someone with a WIS stat >350 these cudgels can release magical electric attacks.

| | This item, and all of it's other iterations, are told to be blessed by the demi-god of luck - due to their limited supply in Setsuwa and their habit of appearing quite randomly (seemingly out of nowhere) the rumours may be true. While it won't aid you in casting powerful spells, just being in posession of it gives you such grand luck - and it's also a lovely fashion choice for those who love green.
The wielder of this staff has their luck increased by 25% WHILE holding this item.

These cudgels have a 5% chance of encasing an opponent's limb in ice when a hit is successful.

Possessing this weapon is told to grant it's wielder control over the moon...
This weapon allows the user to control the phases of the moon and force them to change or not change at will.

| | Activating this scroll will summon the wind to surround you in a quick protective armor that deflects incoming attacks.

| | This scroll will engulf the target in a holy fire for a short period of time.
One use, automatically hits and does 10% damage to the health of the target. This attack will ONLY affect creatures of the Death class, or the undead.

Eclipsing Katar
| Legendary Offensive Close Range
| | A dangerous blade told to have been crafted by Khades herself, as a gift for only a true warrior of her cause. The blade is split into two portions that grow apart at the hilt and meet back together at the tip - between the two is an angry shadow that enters the skin like a needle to make the victim of this blade weakened with every blow. With enough blows landed the shadow causes the victim to fall into a cursed sleep. The handle of the Katar is embellished with words from a long-dead language.
If 3 hits are landed in succession with this weapon, the victim will fall into a cursed sleep only breakable by a spell or potion.

Enchanted Elven Bow

| | These richly crafted bows are made only by the elders in elf-clans, as a final act before death, they craft a bow and detail their life in the carvings in the wood. Typically these bows stay in families for generations, but they have been known to appear in pawn shops or on the black market.
Each of this item's qualities gain a bonus of +15 when used by a pure Elf.

| | A weapon crafted by the great deity Moann, who submerged it in the deepest depths of the Sumish sea. The handle is eight inches in length and covered in an array of beautiful designs that glow and curve in colours of green, gold and tan. The lash is braided from the rarest type of seaweed, leaving it flexible but firm. The Eshte Whip is told to work properly only in the hands of one blessed by Moann - it can be delicate enough to handle a baby, or deadly enough to cut through any material known to man.
Can be used to grab things at a distance.

Fine Rapier

| | This caliber of weapon is found only in the hands of the upper class. With its thin blade and ornate hilt it may not be much of a weapon - but it could very well be deadly in the hands of a particularly well-practiced fighter. Then again, so can a quill.

| Scroll
| | This scroll gives it's user the power to become a humanoid structure of flame for a short time.

Frostbite
| Legendary Offensive Close Range Offensive Long Range
| | It is said the Frostbite was created by a brave soul collecting a tear from the sleeping deity of Aissic... He died, of course, and no one knows what became of the dagger after that - if it even existed. The Frostbite is very small - small enough to tuck into a sleeve - but the weapon is not to be underestimated as it can slice through skin as easily as parchment. Coming in the usual colours of blacks, whites browns and reds the Abraxan is gigantic - the smallest Abraxan pony recorded was the size of a normal stallion. Two wings, like a giant hawk's, are enough to carry the large weight of an Abraxan. A full-grown male Abraxan can typically carry five to ten people of average size on its back for long distances, making them popular for ferrying people to and from the celestial countries. Such creatures as these are also good battle pets, their large size makes them good to trample opponents and their wings make for good escapes.

This creature is violent and is not easily controlled, however when it is tamed it is extremely loyal and a very good watchdog or battle partner. These creatures use their sharp teeth and their remarkable strength to bite and tackle opponents. It takes a lot of time with this creature to convince it to fight for anything but itself - and it is never safe to have around children.

Anxe communicate through tapping walls, floors and other surfaces with their long, stiff tails, as they have no voice box and cannot make a sound otherwise. Horns, claws and snapping teeth can hit you almost all at once if you get too close… Chimera can become pets, but only when attained at a young age and trained properly. Everyone knows how dragons are like giant lizards with great wings, spiked heads and long ungainly tails. And of course they know that dragons breathe fire. Dragons are often called one of the most boring creatures in all of Setsuwa – after humans, of course. Dragons are often used as pets to battle, as gatekeepers and as something to ride on. There are even competitions for Dragon Racing.

Griffon

| | A Griffon is a magnificient beast that is oft compared to a horse even though it has no part of a horse in it. A Griffon is instead a mixture of a bird and a lion. The type of bird can vary greatly. Now, as to why a Griffon is often compared to a horse? It is the same size, though with the torso, tail and hind legs of a lion and the frontquarters and wings of a bird. One can also ride a Griffon the same way one could ride on a horse only a Griffon does not typically fare well on land with heavy weights - instead they prefer to take to the skies - which is where their food source is. A Griffon typically eats small birds and occasionally large bugs when their primary food source is running low. Griffons are not typically violent creatures, though when approached roughly or roped they have been known to attack... When captured and trained properly, they can make good battle pets. They are also extremely useful as transportation with their horse-like size and large wings.

Grimalkin

| | A Grimalkin looks almost identical to your typical grey or black house cat, though there are a few major differences. The first is that Grimalkin are shape-shifters. They can become almost anything, and they use it nearly all the time. Grimalkin are hardly ever spotted in the wild for this very reason - they are never what they appear to be. A second, very important, aspect of a Grimalkin is the fact that it can speak in the language of any creature within ten feet of it, and they can speak into minds. This has made them very common pets for the blind and the deaf. In the wild, however, they are extremely dangerous and quite enjoy causing havoc. When trained properly, however, they are one of the most useful pets in all of Setsuwa. They are incredible battle pets, incredible conversationalists, and Grimalkins are also known for adhering to an owner so well that they begin to act like them.

Quavill

| | Quavills are small, mouse-like creatures with long furry tails and large ears. Their bodies are round and fuzzy, making them look more like pom-poms than living creatures. Quavills are quite adorable and make for great pets, as they are virtually harmless on their own. However, packs of Quavills have been known to cause considerable damage by swarming victims and inflicting many small wounds, usually 1-2 inches in diameter, until the victim bleeds to death. The wounds themselves are hardly deadly, but a thinning agent in the Quavills saliva prevents the blood from clotting. Quavills as pets are very high in demand, not for their battle skills but for the fact that when domesticated they are an adorable, loyal animal to have scampering around the house.

Unicorn

| | The Unicorn is essentially a wonderfully beautiful white horse with a glimmering horn of silver, crystal or diamond attached to its brain and protruding through its forehead. The longer the horn, the more powerful the Unicorn's magic will to be. As foals, Unicorns tend to be black or dark brown with dark coloured manes as well; they only turn white or silver as they age. Even the small horn that foals have is darker - made of coal, or granite normally, before it grows into a mare or stallion. Unicorns can attack in battle, tending to use their long pointed horns as weapons or charging at an opponent and attempting to trample them... Their magic is only used for good, and often when domesticated their owners will compromise this goodness, their horns turning back into coal or breaking off entirely. As pets, Unicorns are known for their loyalty and good-tempered nature while being ridden as well as being venerable battle pets.

Xinrra

| | The Xinrra is a distant relative of the Phoenix, seeming to almost be its duplicate... Except for the lack of fire and or red colouration. The Xinrra is feathered in blues and purple. It has the ability to turn into water at will, and all Xinrra have the ability to tell when a rain is going to come and how hard it is going to fall... If there are many Xinrra flying about one knows that there is going to be a soaking rainfall, for they have a strange diet that consists of raindrops or snowflakes. These are a very difficult pet to keep because of their odd eating habits, but many still try to domesticate and hold them in their house in cages. Many people use Xinrra to predict weather changes, preferring them to Augerys.

Zizgran

| | A great bird of the stars, a Zizgran is a high-class monster with wings that appear to be made of an otherworldly black metal. These wings do not move, instead the take an arch-like shape over the creature's back. It has a bright, orange plumage all over its ~7'5" body, and a pair of long, slender legs that end in rounded tips; there are no claws. Its tail plumage is the same orange colour, but seems to blend with the same metallic substance the wings are made of. Its long neck is also armored with this metal, and its proud head boasts a tall crown of feathers and a wicked, curved beak that can tear regular iron asunder. Zizgran fly at high speeds, and while an awe-inspiring sight to behold, should never be approached too closely unless one seeks a fight - the bird is highly vicious, and will attack anything it perceives as a possible threat or food. In addition to its beak, it also boasts the ability to channel and launch electricity through its crown feathers in a straight path. Because of all of these incredible skills, the Zizgran is a very popular battle pet and many fighting rings where they were forced to compete have had to have been banned.

Assume Animal Form Scroll

| | This is a revered special scroll that, when read allowed by a follower of Fayana, will turn them into an animal of their choosing for a maximum twenty-four hour period, or until they wish to change back. This scroll is typically used as a rite of passage for Fayana followers. Young boys and girls are sent into the woods or jungle as an animal to experience a journey of spirit before becoming men and women.

| | This icing-smothered delicacy can only be obtained on a birthday, of course, and its amazing flavor holds restorative properties that make it dearly loved throughout the world.

Bite of Winter
| Legendary Worn Item
| | A small gem that is said to have been formed from the pressure and low temperatures within the largest glacier of Aissic - the place where Fiorre's head is said to be. The thumbnail-sized blue crystal becomes frozen to it's owners chest by the heart, melding to the skin and reaching it's cold grip into the heart as if it were another organ. This gem gives the user a complete immunity to the cold, being able to withstand any low temperatures - even if completely nude. The gem also gives it's owner the ability to perform ice spells with incredible fluency, even if they had no magic talent to begin with. Unfortunately the story of The Bite is very well known, and many thieves would be willing to carve it out of the owner's chest for a buck.
When casting ice or cold spells, the owner's WIS will be increased by 25%. The owner will be immune to low temperatures, freezing and frostbite. Bite of Winter cannot be removed without killing the owner. |

Black Spider Ring

| | This loose and spindly ring can fall off if you forget about it, but it is worth the forethought as it proves quite useful. With a single thought you can shoot a long thread of nigh unbreakable spider web at a target, and it proves quite useful when trying to capture people or monsters. It seems to have a limited amount of ammo, though.

Once this ring is equipped, it cannot be removed. Upon equipping it, the wearer chooses one of the Weapons or pieces of Armor in their inventory and permanently multiples all of its Offensive/Defensive stats by 1.5. If the selected item is EVER removed from the Inventory, the wearer must either pay a Fate Point or die.

This is a coveted item of Fayana worshipers, and many members of her cloth wear recreations of it.

Whoever makes contact will be affected by an illusion that makes them numb to The Secret. It is said that Miyine created it herself. The followers of the Quarter firmly believe that this cloak exists.

Leprechaun Smoke Bomb

| | These annoying little contraptions are the reason behind why the mythical Leprechauns always escape capture. of course, these were created afterward, as a homage to the stories of the little men in green who have great pots of gold. These smokebombs are covered with an inconspicuous green cloth and dotted with (fake-)gold beads, one larger bead is placed in a position on the outside. When the larger bead is pressed into a slot right beneath it, the bomb begins to expand. When it makes contact with something (the ground, an opponent, etcetera) it releases an incredible amount of green and gold smoke to confuse an opponent or to make a quick escape.

| | This small pin is carved from quartz, and someone has carved a simple sequence of minuscule runes down the side of it. When stuck in someone's clothing, or really anywhere on their person, it acts as an extra ear for the owner. Unfortunately, the spell is noticeably weak, and as such it does not last for as long as one might wish.

Mermaid Tear

| | This tear holds an interesting history. It is in fact not from a mermaid at all, but instead from a Siren - who were thought to be a more monstrous version of the mermaid at the time. The story tells of a ship that was attacked by Sirens, all of the men falling to their seductive beauty - except for one. The Siren, ashamed of herself being unable to sway him into the depth, shed a tear that hardened into this precious gem that he collected and mistakenly named. It is extremely rare and tends to be expensive - though it can be a very useful item for potion-brewing.

| | This lovely porcelain bottle holds a potion that is rather popular with lovers and easy enough to reproduce that it's price is very reasonable. When the bottle is open, and the potion inside is thrown into the air, it releases a beautiful moon and an array of stars to increase the romance of any date.

Mystical Bejeweled Earrings

| | This pair of silver earrings are studded with a magical Gem stone that changes from day to day! Ruby one day, sapphire another, emerald and even diamond! Each jewel supposedly possesses a magic power, but who cares about that when they look this good? For the more masculine-inclined, a smaller, "studlier" version is also available.
Jewel type is determined by the timestamp of your first Post in any given RP. Increase the MAG stat of any equipped Magical weapons by +15 when using Magic of a Specified Element; MON-TUE: Ruby, Fire Magic. WED-THU: Sapphire, Water/Ice Magic. | | This is a small wooden jar of a reddish cream. When spread on anything made of iron or steel, the area where the cream was applied rusts away within a minute. Very useful on an opponent's armor, a steel wall, or cell bars.

Sands of Time

| | Flip this ornately decorated hourglass over and watch the sands of time flow down… And then everything else around you and the hourglass freeze as if in a painting. The Sands of Time is an item mostly read about in stories of daring explorers and damsels in distress, but despite its constant appearance in fiction – it is the real deal. There is, however, only a certain number of times that a single glass can be used before it shatters into a million pieces of glass and grains of sand. It is most commonly used to make quick escapes or to give someone extra time to think of the perfect thing to say.

| | Sea Salt is very commonly used in potions made to prevent magic. It is a grounder of magic, a protector, a form of purification for curses. When located in it's strongest form it is a very useful material in potion brewing and item synthesis.

Second Cloak of Miynie
| Legendary Worn Item
| | This legendary cloak looks to be made of the finest fabrics of the world - a fabric owned only by the richest of Kings and Queen. It grants the wearer a power over illusions that no possible magic in the world can shatter. The user is able to change their appearence, form or voice at will, and it will be completely convincing to all non-Godly beings. It is said that Miynie herself sewed this cloak from the very fabric of Rielcia.
The spells set by this cloak cannot be broken by anything but god-level magic. |
Serpent Skin

| | Snakes are very common in Setsuwa, and so is the skin shed from them. Before it came to the potion community's attention that such a thing could be used to brew potions, it was thrown in the trash. Now, however, it is used particularly in magics to remove enchantments and curses.

| | This creation is a staple potion for all brewers. It has a simple, mostly innocuous, effect of putting the creature or person that ingests it to sleep, and it can be undone with simple spells or simply by being well-rested.

| | An enchanted silver necklace, ornamented with a beautiful, crystalline Snowflake. It's cold to the touch, but we all must make sacrifices for fashion and magic, don't we?
When using Ice Magic, increase the MAG stat of any equipped magical weapon by +15. If the wearer is also ICE class, increase the MAG stat by +25 instead.

Traverser of Life Scroll

| | An extremely rare scroll that, when activated, will send a user from the Underworld to the surface world without officially bringing the person back to life. This scroll acts in such a way that the user can stay in the real world until they will themselves to leave. |
Unduine
| Equipment Hunting Equipment
| | The Unduine is a legendary rope that has a strong connection with Streike, deity of Death. When the Underworld was first envisioned by her, she had no way to keep the souls in a place they did not willingly choose to be - she could reap as many souls as she could ever want, but they would always leave her capture. The other deities came together to create Unduine for her - Diassei farmed for diamond dust to fill the rope and make it unbreakable, Fayana sewed the rope from hemp blessed by Miyne to be invisible to the eye of mortals, and Ayneia enchanted it to have control over the incorporeal souls as well. When Diassei stormed Ephilroa, she easily broke the rope and shattered it, leaving only a small portion left that Streike was never able to locate... If it exists, the Unduine is believed to have a golden hue and a silk-like feel - but it is impossible to destroy. It chooses it's owner and will only show itself to that person, proving itself invisible to others. The length and strength of the rope changes based on it's owners will, and it can knot and unknot itself with a single thought.
