These rolling hills are covered in an unusual blanket of snow, something that is not seen anywhere else in Liesdro. Despite the sun beating down on the area all day every day, the snow stays in its place and offers a fake visit to Aissic for those curious but without the necessary funds or braveness.

It was beautiful. Perhaps even breath-taking. Liesdro was an incredible place where it seemed almost anything could happen. She ran across the remarkable snow, her legs seeming to bend in odd places, and then stopped to look back and see that her footprints were nowhere to be found. She loved places that seemed to shock and awe people - more specifically, her. And this was one of them. She collapsed to the ground and held herself steady on her back on the cool snow, happy. Happy as a kitten who had just gotten the most delicious cream it had ever tasted. The most glittery and cold cream.
Aras was attempting to roll up a ball of snow (for the purposes of throwing), but it was difficult to hold it in his incorporeal hands. Katerine could hear the noises of his failures every so often and it managed to conjure a smile on her normally apathetic or sad face. It made Jackson, who was sitting next to her smile as well. It had been very long since she had been genuinely happy, and he wondered how long they would be able to stay here. He opened his mouth to ask Alana, only to realize she had not joined them on this specific trek.
"It is quite good to see you enjoying yourself," He managed to voice with a smooth sound that seemed awkward coming from him with his flap of skin that was his cause of death and the rough look of his exterior in general. Katerine merely nodded, not ready to speak as if afraid if she did then the cold she felt against her back would just be the cold on her bed on the ship. And she was just dreaming. Or just imagining.
In less than a second she felt a screaming cold hit her face with enough power to force her head to ground. She sat up immediately, holding her head which hurt a bit from the impact. She felt around the back of her head and would have gasped if not for the snow covering her face at the fact there was a dent there now. It wouldn't actually harm her as it was difficult to harm her in such ways, but it certainly would stay dented for a while. She cleared her face of the snow and frowned at Aras, whom she assumed had thrown the ball of snow. He was laughed heartily, rolling down the hill before appearing right behind her and pushing her with enough force to send her reeling down as well.
When she hit the bottom she nearly screamed bloody murder... but instead she started laughing. She was in a comical position. Her body curled up in a way that had her legs pushed up, her feet dangling over her head. Aras knew that this was why he liked her, she could take a joke.

Heeheeheeheehee!
Mackenzie giggled in his mind as he hopped through the snow. He loved the fluffy white powder, and he was sure surprised to find it in Liesdo. He enjoyed it all the more when he was in his dog form, getting it stuck in his fur and then shaking it off. The only thing he didn't like about the frozen water was when it got stuck in his pads. It just felt weird to him, and his paws were very sensitive.
Mackenzie rolled around in the snow, getting completely covered in it. He had been running the entire day to get to the Glistening Hills, and was hot from all of his sprinting. The snow closest to his skin melted to cold water, instantly cooling the hot dog.
Mackenzie's frolicking was halted by the sound of laughter. He froze and looked around, searching for the cause of the sound. He noticed an older girl all rolled up at the bottom of a hill. She must have fallen, but it looked like she didn't mind. The girl was all alone, and Mackenzie thought that she could use some company. He quickly shook the snow off of his body and began trotting over to the girl.
As he neared the girl, Mackenzie noticed things about her. Her skin looked like an old doll (he had seen one in a gutter once). An even closer inspection gleaned that she had various scars and cuts along her body. This didn't stop Mackenzie, however, for he could somehow tell that this girl had a kind soul.
Once Mackenzie was close enough, he used his nose to flick some snow at the girl. He then barked playfully and wagged his tail. Let's play! He thought. Mackenzie sometimes thought what he would usually say in his human form, but being a dog he obviously couldn't speak.
Mackenzie Barked happily again. C'mon, let''s play!

Aras grinned happily at Katerine's reaction, and even more so when he saw the dog bounding towards them. In moments the dead young man knew that this was an anthromorph, and an ultra cute one at that. He briefly wondered if it was a girl, but then decided that (based on the size) even if it were, it would be far too young for him. Despite this, Aras was still tickled pink and transported himself next to the dog, running along with it as it came towards Katerine.
Jackson, much unlike Aras, was not so carefree and excited at the site of t he dog. Instead he appeared next to Katerine, touching her shoulder lightly (hoping that the cold of a dead man and the cold of the snow was something she could differentiate) to show her the dog so that she would not be taken too completely by surprise. Katerine stopped her laughing, wiping a small tear away from her eye as she turned to look at Jackson whom had appeared next to her. She stole a moment to admire how tall he was (she did not often notice) and then looked to where he was staring.
A large smile broke out onto her face at the sight of the dog and Aras running along side it – both with floppy tongues hanging out.
When the dog flicked snow at her, she laughed reaching out to pet him happily before being barked at caused her to take her hand back. She glanced briefly at Jackson (whom was looking suspiciously at the dog) and then at Aras (who was looking as if he so desperately wished to play with the dog himself). After a moment of thought and an encouraging look from Aras, she straightened herself out (fixing her knees that had come unjointed at the fall) and bending down at the hips, hands resting on her knees, so that she could get a better look at the dog. “Well hello there. Do you want to play?” She asked happily, an uncharacteristic smile blotting her cracked face.
(OOC: Alright, that post kind of failed. Sorry.)

The girl, who seemed to be very happy, asked him if he wanted to play. Mackenzie nodded to her question, and began to hop around her. The girl looked a little scary, with the cracks and the scars, and the strange popping sounds that her legs made when she sat up. However, he knew she was nice, as he was naturally a great judge of character.
Mackenzie flicked more snow at the girl, and then began hopping away, occasionally turning around to bark, beckoning her to chase him. When he turned to continue running, his left paw caught behind the right, sending him tumbling into the snow.
I hope she didn't see that. Mackenzie poked his head out of the snow to look around. When he saw the girl again, he quickly hopped back up and continued his running.

Katerine laughed at the little show the canine was putting on, blissfully unaware of the fact that it was a person. Instead she just took a deep breath as the pup began to run, and then chased after it, Aras following close with her. Jackson strayed back, collapsing into the snow without anything in the environment reacting to him. “Children,” He muttered with his head in his hands.
Katerine was so happy. She had never had any real opportunity for playing as a child, so the whole adventure was new to her. She found running fun, although it was very difficult as her joints popped and her legs cracked and her lungs struggled to get enough breath. She had to pause for breath multiple times, Aras continuing to run ahead. Bent double, Katerine missed Mackenzie’s tumble into the snow, but heard Aras’ laughing. She brought her head up in time to see the little dog’s head pop out of the snow, making her heart jump with how adorable it was, and then it ran off, forcing her to make another attempt at running.
The young Morent clutched her side as if it were bleeding profusely as she kepy on running, her burning legs begging her to stop where she was. She didn’t want to, however. Her adrenaline was building fast and the excitement of it all was going to her head quickly. Catching up to the little pup, she pushed off the ground, making an attempt at snagging it while jumping. “I’ve got you now!” She laughed in mid-air, only realizing her horrible sense of distance as she landed ahead of the dog’s path. She landed head first, her tumble forcing her neck to jolt back in a position that snapped her neck in a way that would cause death for someone who wasn’t death themselves. After her roll was finished, she found herself laying on her back in the snow, Jackson at her side with the strong wish of helping her get out of her discomfort. “I knew that this was a bad idea,” He muttered with a harsh frown as he looked at the damage she appeared to have taken.
Despite all of this however, she managed to push herself up on her hands so that she rolled into a sitting position. Then she brought those snow covered palms up to her head, jerking her neck until it snapped back into place with a loud and painful sounding ‘crack’. After sitting in a brief silence, she smiled at the dog, “Now that was fun.”

Mackenzie skidded to a stop as the girl jumped straight over him. she landed in the snow with a loud crack, causing Mackenzie some worry. Mackenzie held his breath as the girl tumbled, and his eyes widened as she sat up, neck bent back in an impossible position. He relaxed as she seemed to be alright, bending her head back to normal and exclaiming how fun their play time was. The girl was a little strange, but Mackenzie didn't mind. Her being unable to be hurt was a plus in Mackenzie's book, she could play longer!
Mackenzie ran towards the girl and jumped on her, pushing her to the ground. He quickly gave her a lick on the face, then rolled into the snow onto his back next to her. He was panting quite quickly at this point, and decided to take a rest. This girl was fun, and acted like one that would be Mackenzie's age. He figured that she was just a fun lover like him.
Mackenzie stretched his paws to the sky and yawned widely. His yawns were always squeaky, and many adults awwwwww'ed at them. He was tired from the day's running, and the quick bursts of speed during his play with the girl. He wasn't quite done with playing just yet, however.

Smiling at the dog as she panted, she took a moment to glance as Jackson’s unimpressed look. When she turned back however, she was tackled by the dog, who pushed her to the ground and proceeded to lick her face. Jackson and Aras both knew that the animal was an anthromorph and not just any other dog, and both reached out to grab the thing off of her, but then it left on it own, leaving their Katerine laughing in the snow. They shared a look, wondering if they should tell her. They decided against it. She was having fun, which was rare.
As she stretched out in the snow, the dog did as well making a squeaky yawning sound that made her heart melt within her chest. She grinned, flipped herself over onto her stomach so it was easier to watch the adorable pup. Reaching over, she ran her hand over the canine’s stomach, offering a belly rub in return for the playtime she never got as a kid. “You all pooped out, little guy?” She asked cheerily, the cold against her skin not having much affect in the way of deterring her from staying on it too long.
(OOC: Ahg. Can’t come up with anything else. Sorry for the suckage.)

Mackenzie enjoyed the belly rub, he didn't get them very often. It was true what the girl said, he WAS rather pooped. Mackenzie, however, wasn't going to listen to his body just yet, he rarely did when it came to play time. He rolled over onto his feet, promptly shaking the snow out of his fur and onto the girl. His tail wagged furiously as his tongue hung out the side of his mouth. He panted in a giggling manner, the way dogs do when they are happy.
Mackenzie sat back down in the snow next to the girl, looking at her and cocking his head as if to ask "What next?" He thought about changing to human form in order to talk to the girl, but he was having too much fun as a dog, and decided against it for the time being.
Mackenzie decided that waiting was boring, and decided to start a game of keep away. The girl had a scarf around her neck, so Mackenzie grabbed it and started running up a hill.
Catch me if you can!

Katerine was enjoying just laying in the snow and absently rubbing the adorable tummy of an adorable little dog. She honestly could have stayed there all day, thinking and petting. She briefly considered things that she had heard about dogs having a sixth sense that most people didn’t have. Obviously she had it, what with her being able to speak to Aras, Alana and Jackson all the time. She wondered if, perhaps, this dog was seeing her two male companions as well. She was about to decide against it, seeing as it only seemed to notice her, but before she could think the words, she felt a pull at her neck and only then realized that the dog was absent from her now air-petting hand.
The pull on her neck got stronger, and then she felt a sudden cold on the delicate skin there, her scarf having been pulled away. Her eyes jolted open and her arm tried to reach forward and snag the thing, but the dog moved to fast. Collapsing her face into the snow out of exasperation, she slowly got up. She was still panting lightly, not used to that much running in one session – or at all, really. When she got up, her legs felt like jelly, and she really didn’t want to run. She really liked that scarf, however, and who knew? Maybe this would turn out to be some sort of sign.
“Come back here you little tart,” She yelled after it, slowly starting to chase the canine in a quick walk that she would soon discover was not enough. She looked to Aras and Jackson, a pleading for help in her eyes, but she knew that neither could do anything. “Sorry love,” Aras shrugged, grinning slightly at the situation. Jackson just wore his ‘I Told You So’ face, an eyebrow raised, a mixture of a sneer and a smirk contorting his lips as his nostrils flared. “You’re a lot of help,” She murmured to them both. Jackson, in acquiescence, simply provided an all-telling smirk that had her sticking her tongue out at him and then running along after the dog as much as she could.
She was thankful then that her scarf was in such a dark colour, otherwise she may have missed the dog darting through the snow. She paused for a moment to come up with a game plan, pretending that she was bent over double, panting. She was doing that as well, her broken and malnourished body not the kind to run for long periods of time. More so, however, she was looking around at all of the possibilities for ways to catch up without having to run at the same or greater speed. Noting a large series of hills that could block her from view, she gimped in a run behind them, making more crunching sounds as she pretended to move further away, ready to jump at the pup when it came running by. I’ll get you now, little guy…

Mackenzie was starting to really tire out, but he wasn't about to let that stop him. The girl seemed to be tired as well, as she was lagging behind. She was so far behind, in fact, that Mackenzie couldn't see her when he turned to look. He paused to scan the whiteness, looking for his playmate. He couldn't see her at all, and was a little worried. He decided to investigate, trotting back to where they were laying. The snow around the area was too trampled to find separate footprints, so Mackenzie decided to wander around until he found her.
He wandered over to some hills that he had passed during the chase. He put his nose to the ground in order to try and use his nose to find the girl. However, he wasn't very good at tracking, he never was. Letting out a small whimper, Mackenzie thought that the girl left and their playtime was over. If she left, he thought, sitting on the ground, then I’ll need to find her in order to give her back her scarf. Mackenzie promptly switched back to his human form, taking the scarf out of his mouth and wrapping it around his neck. He shivered, it was colder here than he thought, and being wet from the snow didn’t help. He quickly shook the water out of his hair and began calling for the girl.
”Hello?” asked Mackenzie to the whiteness. He stood up and began walking, his feet numbing in the snow. ”Did you leave? If you did, you forgot your scarf! Hello?!

She was waiting for sight of the dog, preparing herself to jump out at it and snag up the scarf. When she heard footprints and a small whimper, she got as close to edge of the hill as she could and then… Bam! She jumped out, her limbs splayed oddly as she flew through the air. In her tuckered out voice, she yelled at the top of her lungs, “Aha! I gotcha now…!” But of course, she didn’t know that the dog was an anthromorph. She didn’t know that the dog was no longer there and that only a child stood in its place.
She landed in front of the boy, freezing quickly so as not to fall over, nor to tackle the boy like she had planned to do the dog. She did not hear any of the words he said, and so she did not know that this was the same person at all. Her skin flushed red and she looked down at her feet while she wrung her cracked wrists, the skin breaking more under her steady grip. “I’m sorry,” She began, licked her dried out lips nervously, “I thought you were someone… Er, something else…”
Jackson and Aras began their way over, seeing the child and sighing with some semblance of relief. If it had been someone older, and had gone about licking Katerine’s face… They might have a problem with that. But it was only a child, and children were harmless in their eyes. Jackson was not particularly fond of children, but he knew that was typically true.
“Have you seen a dog running about?” She asked as she brought her head back up to meet the boy’s gaze. He had hair like the dog, but her being her, she did not notice it, “It grabbed my scarf and… Well, in a place like this it’d be pretty nice to have a scarf – you know?”
“Katerine…” Jackson began, standing next to the boy and pointing at the scarf. He thought that she would mean to her that this was the dog. He was quite wrong. “Oh!” She said as she noticed the scarf, “That’s the one, right there in your hand… Er, where’s the dog? Did it just leave it behind or…” Her mouth became agape with a realization that was not particularly real, “Is it okay?!”

The girl didn't leave at all! She was just hiding, waiting to pounce on him. Mackenzie was quite relieved when she appeared, but his relief turned to confusion when the girl didn't recognize him. She asked him where he went, and if he was ok. Mackenzie cocked his head to the right, like he would normally do as a dog. His eyes widened when he finally understood what was going on: she didn't know that he was the dog!
"Of course i'm ok!" Said Mackenzie, smiling while wiping some melted snow off of his tan arm. He also wiped off his dog-tag. His purple collar was soaked from the snow. "I thought you ran away without your scarf, so I wanted to return it. It's pretty cold here, and you look like you need a scarf. I'm a dog, so don't get cold as much." Mackenzie sat cross-legged in the snow in front of the girl, draping the scarf around her neck. He smiled at the girl. "That was fun, I haven't played with someone in weeks!"
Mackenzie then realized that he had forgotten the most important part of making new friends. "Oh! I almost forgot, my name is Mackenzie, what's yours?"

Katerine, not being the brightest of bulbs – in fact being a rather dead one – did not understand what this meant at first. Was this the dog she had been playing with? If it was, she did not make the connection. Instead she stood, frozen to the spot as she gaped at the boy in a confused way. “Katerine,” Jackson began, stopping only to clonk Aras on the head as the black ghost started to laugh. He started again too later, however, as Katerine was already backing away from Mackenzie. “Katerine,” He tried again, shaking his head as her apparent misunderstanding or offence. Katerine, however, ignored him.
“You… you… Ate him?” She asked cluelessly, biting into her lip to calm her nerves as she tried to inconspicuously sidle backwards, finding her limbs creaking loudly with every step. Aras, at that point, could no longer stop the laughter and the tears from coming and he burst out in peals of the joyful sound. “Oh kitty!” He bellowed, bent over double as Katerine eyed him, forgetting briefly about Mackenzie. “Oh dear, dear Kitty. He is the dog, silly,” It was difficult for him to get it all out, but he managed it before Jackson forced him to disappear from the conversation – sensing Katerine’s oncoming embarrassment. “Oh… But he doesn’t look like a dog now. Like an anthro,” She commented to Jackson, forgetting for a moment that she was in front of something, “I mean… You… You don’t… And I… Well…”
“He’s not just an anthro like Mia, Katerine. He’s an anthromorph. He can change. Mia is a less refined version of him… only, a cat and not a dog,” Jackson explained, appearing behind Mackenzie so that when she looked at him it would seem like she was looking at the boy. She nodded her vague understanding, a flush rushing into her cheeks as she felt embarrassment overtake her. “I’m sorry,” She managed, moving forward slowly to retrieve her scarf. She thought briefly about the fact that he had licked her face and she had rubbed his stomach – was she a pedophile now? “I’m not used to… Shapeshifters. Of any kind, really… I’m sorry…”

Mackenzie nearly burst out in laughter when the girl asked him if he ate himself, but then became a little confused when she began talking, not to him, but to herself. It was like she was talking to someone, but there wasn't anyone there. The girl's confused face then looked at him. A chill went down Mackenzie's back, but he just assumed it to be the snow. There wasn't much of a reason for him to believe that there were invisible people around, besides the fact that the girl was talking to no one.
The girl then apologized, saying that she wasn't used to "Shapeshifters". Another chill made Mackenzie shiver He should probably get someplace warm soon, the cold was really starting to get to him.
"N-no need to be s-sorry." He replied through chattering teeth. "F-friends don't n-need to s-s-say s-sorry to each other." Mackenzie tried to smile, but his lips were numbing. Tee-shirts aren't the best for playing in snow. "So what's your name?" Mackenzie hugged himself to stay warm, but it wasn't helping. Some wind started up, making the boy even colder.
So much for dogs not getting cold...

“Friends?” She asked quizzically, her eyebrows drawn together as she wondered exactly what he meant by that. They had only just met, and had only started talked seconds ago. To her, that didn’t make them friends. She supposed, however, that he was a child. Children tended to blow things out of proportion. To be true, she didn’t even want to be friends. The dog was different, it was a cute little animal that she could play with. Children… Well, she had seen too many dead ones, perhaps to want to be friends. They were difficult to work with, and so she avoided them at all costs.
She wondered briefly if he was born a dog or a child first, but then decided it wouldn't really matter. He was still a child and not a dog, and she didn't feel comfortable with him enough. Especially not enough to say that she could be friends with it. She was about to continue along in her thoughts when she felt a cold grasp on her arm, which caused her to shift her attention back to reality where Jackson was telling her that he asked her name.
"Oh, right. My name? Well," She thought briefly about whether or not she wanted to give her name. Perhaps she would only give her nickname from the ship... But then she decided it was a horrible nickname, and she absolutely despised it. It's not like ever since she joined bad things were happening. They were the last surviving ship and they were doing great. Why did they have to call her Plague? "Well my name is... ironically... Kat," She didn't want to use her full name, fearful of the kinds of things that might happen. She all she knew, this was a person that ate the dog. For all she knew, this was a shapeshifter who worked for Woodrow, and right now they were trying to get information out of a suspected pirate.
"Look, I really can't stay. People are waiting for me, y'know... Uh, nice meeting you... Er, dog. I'll see you around," And with that, she began to trudge off over the hills, Aras and Jackson talking worriedly about her strange departure and what had caused it. However, mind active, Katerine managed to keep her lips sealed to avoid disclosing any of her reasons while still within earshot of the boy-dog. Especially seeing as dogs were supposed to have particularly good hearing. She didn't need him catching her saying that she was 'worried he worked for Woodrow and knew she was a pirate'. Because then, if he did work for Woodrow or had any interest in the bounties on their heads, he would be quick to turn her in. Which was something she preferred to avoid.

The girl’s name was Kat. Mackenzie didn’t really understand the irony of it, but he was young. He also didn’t understand why she was being so unfriendly to him. She was being nice and having fun when he was a dog, but now she suddenly had to leave. Mackenzie really wanted to be friends with Kat, and his fear of rejection did not make the current situation any better. Mackenzie dropped to his knees; both the cold and Kat’s leaving made him weak all of the sudden. He changed into his dog form, he was more comfortable in it, and began to whimper. The whimper soon turned into a full-out doggy lament. Mackenzie could never get anyone to stay with him for very long. He wondered if there was something wrong with him, with the way he looked or acted.
Mackenzie hung his head low above the ground, sitting sadly as Kat walked away. Another gust of wind blew from behind, causing his ears to flop forward. The dog tag on his collar jingled in the wind, but his whining drowned it out. He was a truly sad sight, if not a bit pathetic.
Then, completely out of nowhere, Mackenzie’s whining was halted by a tiny sneeze. Immediately after, however, his sadness was back in full force.
