NAME: Major Thomas (Tommy) Dunn
GENDER: Male
RACE: Human, which he considers to be something that comes as an enormous inconvenience mostly due to the lack of high lifespan.
AGE: Forty one years old.
HEIGHT&BUILD: He stands at approximately six feet and three inches and typically finds himself holding one hundred seventy pounds - on a good day. Most of this is muscle attained from an almost daily work out and army regiments he has been under for over a decade.
APPEARANCE: Although Tommy is noticeably strong, he still manages to be lean by balancing a great diet, a strength workout and a heavy cardio work out. As of late he has been letting it fall slightly, decreasing his strength in an almost obvious sense. Despite being fit, and taking great pride in it, many would call Tommy (including himself) a good looking man. His hair is made of short, loose brown curls that he makes a point to keep cleaned - a shower being one of the many reasons he loves his country so much. Tommy has a defined brow and a square chin spattered with a small amount of stubble. His eyes are a light blue colour, but because of the small size of them the colour is difficult to tell from a distance.
On a typical day, Tommy will either be wearing his military uniform, or a casual white shirt with a black blazer on top and matching black pants - typically these pieces are from the more expensive line of men's wear.
SPECIALPOWER: He does not have any inherent abilities due to the fact that he is a plain and simple human, but over years of hard work he has become an extremely adept engineer. In fact, he was one of the men who invented the aircraft of Artavia. He has since become a passable flier.
PERSONALITY: Thomas is the kind of man who has a lot of ideas, and has the ambition and drive to really do things with it. He's crafty, devious and absolutely set on what he wants. He is the kind of person for whom the ends justify the means.
For all purposes, he is what most people would label a 'genius'. He comes up with incredible ideas, and he knows how to execute them. He is quite a loner and doesn't really see the use of other people except for as tools. He does however, recognize the value of social interaction and relations as a way to get the things you need. As such, he has taught himself how to act more like everyone else in order to incur friendships and alliances. In fact, Thomas seems to be an extremely charismatic person.
Thomas has very weak morals though. He sees no problem in killing people or creatures in order to reach his own ends, and has no qualms about inflicting anguish (physical or mental) in order to achieve his goals. This, however, is not widely known.
ORIENTATION: He doesn't really trifle with such details, but if he were forced to pick, he would just say that he was straight.
LIKES:
- Being in control - Making things more efficient - People who live up to their words - Being an original - Inventing interesting and useful devices - Experimentation - Ingenuity - Showers - Azras - Rats and mice
DISLIKES:
- The untrustworthy - The far-fetched - Spontaneity (for the most part) - People who don't take care of themselves - The mentally or physically disabled
HISTORY: Tommy was born Thomas Douglas Dunn to Freida and Jakob Dunn, two humans from a long line of soldiers and military men of varying degrees. Even from birth it was expected that Tommy would join the army, especially considering that all four of his siblings were girls. Jane, Josephine, Anne, and Cayley respectively. Because of this expectation, he was sent off to the Academy of Combat in Malscure as soon as he was old enough.
In school, Tommy didn't excel in much. He was good in the physical courses, but all of the theory courses seemed to allude him. He didn't appear to have the brain, and most of his teachers called him all brawn and no brain. Neither Thomas nor his parents cared, for all he had to be good at was fighting in order to do well in the army. He graduated when he was eighteen and immediately went back to Artavia, where he enlisted in the army.
He was a great soldier. He didn't seem to mind doing whatever he was told, so long as it was from a higher authority. He was quick learner who picked up a new weapon in the first use of it. He rose up from a mere soldier after several years, also earning several medals.
One day while he was training, fate stepped in. One of the Captains walked in and asked for anyone who had some engineering experience. For no reason other than that he was bored, Tommy volunteered. They seemed doubtful of his knowledge, but it was only a job where he had to assist the real engineers, so they let him in. After only the few hours or working with the Artavian Army's engineers, he fell in love with the job. He would spend the next few months reading every book about engineering, and spending hours of his time with the men who actually had the job he wanted. He applied when he felt he was ready enough, and the Captains were amazed. He had just the right mind for such a line of work, and had so many ideas. He was involved with, and was in fact the major brain behind several weapons in his many years in engineering.
One day he met a fellow engineer, a girl, and thought that he felt what most people would call love. He was absolutely smitten with her and set about courting her. They seemed to be the perfect couple and they married - but not because of their relationship. He had gotten her pregnant, and knew that the only thing to do that was right was marry her. He decided that he loved her anyways, so it seemed like the right idea.
Thadeus Albert Dunn was born and everything went downhill. Tommy started to realize that he hated being around his wife and even more so his son. More and more he spent all of his time and work, designing and testing various aircrafts. Even at work he was distancing himself from people, it was as if he realized how much they were not his real cup of tea.
They were divorced on the day of their first anniversary, and he slowly came back to the world with other people, realizing that he needed people to help him create the aircraft he was desperately working on. It took a decade of his life, but finally in two thousand eight he successfully built one that worked perfectly.
After his life's work was completed, he took on more independent jobs, still managing to stay with the army as a pilot in one of his own planes. No one is quite sure what he is working on... But it appears to be something very important.
