What the heck is Karma for?!
Karma is something given/taken away users on the site based on what you put into the forum. I have rarely seen people take away karma, but usually people will give you a 'blessing' when they like a post you've made!
These points can be traded in for EXP at the General District for a price.
How do you increase the amount of EXP you have?
By posting, of course!
How much EXP do you need to level up at level ____?
I'll detail the first ten levels, but the rest is up to you...

Can I fight/capture wild animals/monsters?
Yep! If you're roleplaying with someone, either of you can make a monster appear and then you can fight it (check the monster directory for ideas, and to make sure it can appear) and if you want to fight one on your own you can write up a post in this section with yourself fighting or capturing one. You do NOT need to wait for a mod to post about a creature appearing! We trust you to be fair for yourself. If you're caught "poaching" as it were, we might call you on it thought (;
Can I own animals/monsters?
Yes, it is entirely possible to get a 'pet'. You can find certain tameable creatures in the wild or buy them in pet shops.
What is the significance of animals/monsters?
They can help you in battle and can be used in roleplay! Who doesn't want a big, cuddly Dragon, after all?
What is gold, and how do I get it?
Gold is the money of Setsuwa! When you start the roleplay you will get a reasonable amount of gold for the kind of character you make. Beyond that, you can get more gold by finding a steady job, helping people out, selling your graphics or art, and OF COURSE by posting!
How do I get weapons?
When you create your character, you will be given a few items to start you off! And don't worry it won't be a whole bunch of basic hooey, you'll also get some sort of special item! Past that, you can buy them from shops, get them from other players, win them in contests or even find them in event caves.
Can I transfer my items and/or gold between my accounts?
No. Every character needs to earn their items. You can sell the items to the other character, or your character can manually give the other character the item during a roleplay.
In general, a transfer of items between characters should always be one that makes sense; anything that seems completely out of nowhere (such as a random gift to another character for no reason) would not be allowed.
How can I get a job?
Once your character is fourteen, they can get a part-time job. You get different jobs depending on your intelligence, experience and the like. For a full-time job your character must be 'of age' - 16. To run your own store you must be able to pay for land or a cart, and be at least 20. Take a look in the Occupations thread for more information.
OMG! I want to be a ___(species name here)___ but it's not on the race list! Help!
Don't worry. Just PM me with the name, and description of the species, and staff and I can see if we can make it work for the site. I am not extraordinarily stubborn when it comes to the races allowed on Setsuwa..
What are Deities? Can I become one?
Deities are the Goddesses of Setsuwa. By worshipping them at Shrines and performing to their liking you may be blessed. Users cannot become a deity, but they can become a Demi-God, as these beings have a limited reign. When your character dies, a Demi-God or Deity may select them to replace a currently presiding Demi-God. Your character cannot be brought back from the dead, but you will be forever immortalized.
