This simple store made of logs (some of which appear to be rotting) and weaved long grass is plenty more impressive on the inside than the outside. The inside, instead of looking like a primitive hut, contains a beautiful silk rug, several pots of flowers and glass casing all around the room filled with pristine scrolls. Portraits of famous Nisequois cover the holes in the walls where light would seep through; the parchment must be taken care of, obviously. The only light available is from a small gas lamp.

The world was an interesting place. Tehodis found it odd that she had never discovered such a thing sooner, but to be honest she had hardly ever left the areas of Eleusia and Mystara to really learn anything more. Even in school she hadn't paid much attention to any lessons on geography or history. Back then it was all exceedingly boring. All she really cared about then was being popular, having good friends and then getting married. Now, however, she didn't really care much for popularity, she definitely didn't want to be married any time soon. The only thing that still stayed true was her want for friendship, which she didn't really have much of back in her school days. So instead of popularity, she wanted knowledge. Instead of getting married, she wanted to explore the world. Niseca, it seemed was the logical next step.
She had visited the country just beneath the clouds (she was not ready for Aurcaele or Artavia as of yet) and she had visited the surface of the country below it (again she was not ready to venture into the water, she did not have full confidence in the magic of the water and feared drowning) and she had even visited the country so famous for dancing. Indeed it was true that she had even attended a dance while she was there. It was quite magical, and she was most enthralled by it - but she had to continue on. She was quite glad that she had, because Niseca was gorgeous. The trees, the flowers. Everything was so natural. The houses - the castles! - seemed to all be made of wood, and there was a city that smelled so beautiful... She found out later that this was the city that produced the most perfume in the world. Tehodis was amazed, and thus had decided to stick around for longer.
She got herself a room at a lovely little inn and then went exploring. She bought several bottles of beautiful perfumes, lovely dresses that she could have sworn had the smells woven into them, and then found the Scrollery. She walked past it at first, having no interest in scrolls in the least, but then she thought of what else might be there. Parchment and quills. Then she thought of how Kiku had promised to write to her, and how he had no yet done so. And thus, she decided she would write a letter to him. She walked in, switching the arm in which she was holding her bags of perfumes and dresses and went to the counter with a satchel of gold in hand.
"I would like one quill and... five pieces of parchment, please," She smiled brightly, squinting through the mostly-darkness to see the clerk, "If it is not too much trouble."

The clerk, and also the owner of the scrollery, was one of those men who seem to have this natural, slightly feminine, beauty about them. His hair was shimmering and long, tied into a loose pony-tail. His eyes glittered behind a pair of small spectacles and his skin was a perfect brown colour... Most people who came into his shop, straight men included, seemed to falter at his beauty, and so he had come to expect it. Of course, it never appeared to start straight away, due to the darkness of the room, but usually when they saw him they would feel breathless. He was an Aasimar, after all, and they were well known for being exceedingly beautiful.
"Of course, madame," He replied with a slight accent, as if common were not the language he usually spoke. He turned around and gathered a lovely quill and a small stack of parchment which he tied together with a fanciful silken bow, "If that is all for you today, madame, that will be twenty six gold pieces."

"Oh," Tehodis blurted when her eyes adjusted to the light inside the building. The clerk was surprisingly attractive, though not in her particular view. He was quite feminine, and Tehodis couldn't help but question his sexuality. She felt it a little rude, but at the same time completely justifiable. For Miyinie's sake, he was a lovelier girl that she was! Was he even a man? His voice sounded as such, but at the same time, it could have just been a woman with a low voice.
Her face flushed with the rude thoughts that were going through her head and she decided to instead busy herself with finding the coins needed to pay for her purchases. She found the twenty six and pulled them out, placing them on the counter for the man-woman to take. "That is all for today and... Here, fifty extra gold," She placed it on the counter, "For being so courteous. It is sad but true that it has become rare to find polite service in shops these days. So many that I go to seem to have clerks that are not quite content to be polite in their jobs. So thank you. Thank you very much."
She slipped her purchases into one of her dress bags and smiled at the clerk on her way out, pondering what exactly she ought to write when she got back to the inn. Dear Kiku, that's how it ought to start I think. But is the dear too formal? Or is it informal? I suppose I ought to have paid more attention when I was taught this sort of thing.

Kiku burst into the Scrollery out of breath. He had ran for over and hour straight in search of the place in order to respond to the letter that he had recieved from Tehodis. She had written him because he had not written her, even though he said he would. Stupid stupid stupid. Kiku had wanted to write her, but he could never find the time. Various things got in the way. Sleeping with other girls, fighting people... regular stuff. But Kiku did want to respond. Even though they couldn't be together right now, Kiku would lose Tehodis forever if she were to slip further away from him. It wouldn't be good if she turned to the arms of another man because of Kiku's mistake.
"H... Hi," Kiku said, between gasps for air, "I... I need... Five pieces of parchment... A quill... and that Gaudy Peacock Quill... please." Kiku pulled out money from the astral plane. 5,000 pieces worth. "Here's the payment, and no change is necessary." It wasn't an offer of generosity, rather it was a move that Kiku did in order to start writing to Tehodis faster. He needed to finish it right away.

"Of course," The ever so feminine man replied. He took notice that the man seemed tired and in quite a bit of a hurry. And so he made a point not to make any unnecessary small-talk or dilly dally with gathering the requested items. He seized the quill, the lovely Peacock one (he had one of these himself) and five pieces of parchment. He waved his hand so that the items were tied together quickly with a vanilla-scented bow and then handed the pile to the red-head, taking the gold at the same time.
"Good luck with the..." He looked the customer over to determine whether he liked women or men, then he continued, "Madame. I'm sure she will love to hear from you. Have a good day sir."
