History Times of Truth
Miynie's early days were spent in the heavens in a quite innocent manner. She was, surprisingly enough, honest. Her time was mostly spent on tending her beauty, and when she thought her beauty was not enough, she let illusions surround her. It is possible what she actually suffered from was little meaning in her life. A lot of her time was spent thinking, watching the world and entertaining herself with thoughts of how easily illusions and lies could ruin and build up things. Over time it seemed to her as if the mortals became more and more fixed around those lies and illusions; illusions such as beauty and fame, lies of great wealth and prosperity. It surprised her, as this had only been in her dreams when she thought what her power could be used for. However, she never dared to descend alone to investigate, remained in the heavens, watching and wondering.
Well-acquainted with lies, Miynie never trusted Diassei. She was well aware of the fact that she wordlessly taunted the sister by pushing her own beauty beyond perfection, even being able to create illusions of what the sisters thought of as most fashonable at the times. Miynie needed not speak foul words, only lie now and then; walk into the same room a Diassei in her splendor, comment positively on the sister's hair. She did not think of Diassei as a fool, and was careful to watch her back, perhaps growing to some extent too careful, a good example of this being how Miynie did not dare to go down to the solid earth alone. As Diassei posed a great threat to the other sisters, Miynie was one of the first to lash out for a weapon to wield against the vile sister.
Indecisiveness
As known, Miynie was one of the goddesses to race from the heavens to battle Diassei and the threat she posed. Failing to do so, Miynie lost her freedom and once regaining it she faced choices. The consequences of the war between the goddesses were evident and visible, but she was not certain that she wanted to wipe this all out. At the time, Miynie was nearly naïve, believing in doing what was right and not what was the most convenient. As she watched the world she saw fear of the goddesses, and if the mortals feared and as long as they recalled these horrors, nothing would happen again. They deserved to know and not live under… illusions. Eventually she realised it herself. These mortals were as savage as they, the goddesses, could be. Their lives would have to be shrouded in illusions for now, to save them.
After borrowing and gathering enough power, Miynie cast the spell that caused the Great Blackout, and after the event was baptised so, even the spell came to be referred to as the Great Blackout. Having done this, though, she felt no desire to return to the heavens. Miynie descended to Setsuwa once more, not quite certain what she was to do. There was no purpose in staying in the heavens. There was nothing for her there. She could be the most beautiful there could ever be if she wanted, but after this she saw no purpose. A hunger for power had been awoken with the Great Blackout, along with curiosity. Were these mortals this easily submitted to a goddess’ will? Were they really so fixed on fleeting things like beauty? Fame? Reputation?
Without consulting any other goddess, Miynie took on an illusion and began to wander the lands, vanished out of range for any map or any skill of tracking.
Curiosity Killed the Truth
After observing for decades, the Goddess of Illusions began to intervene with the everyday lives of the mortals. At first she was not quite sure how she would conduct her tests, but she soon figured a way. Miynie found a whore. The whore was not especially beautiful, nor was she ugly. Miynie let illusions snare themselves around the whore, made her look much better than she did. Immediately the whore’s business picked up, she became more talented at what she did, thanks to the confidence her increasing business gave her. When things were at top, Miynie stripped the whore of the illusions she had cast, stringed the whore with illusions of lesser beauty, and even though this whore’s talent was superior to many of her colleagues’ she had less and less clients.
Miynie found herself a lord who treated everyone around him like they were less worth than the horseshit he had his stable boys quickly clean up, praising them only with insults on their slow working pace. This lord she cast illusions on too, made him endlessly handsome. The hateful words about him seemed to decrease. As the illusions fell, the hatefulness increased again. Miynie was amused and decided to experiment with other phenomena than just looks.
She found a thief. He was not doing very well, as even if he was an excellent thief. He was too scrawny and weak to stand up to the ‘bullies’ who boasted their reputations as fearsome men by beating the thief. Miynie became interested immediately. She disguised herself as a little thief girl, made herself look beautiful, but not that eye-catching. Easily she seduced the thief, whispered words into his ears, made his confidence grow. At the same time, she spread rumours of how fearsome and deathly he was, and with the newfound confidence this thief was left alone. Miynie was enjoying herself, and left the thief. She had not counted in the most powerful of her illusions; love. Soon after, the thief killed himself.
This should have halted the goddess, but it merely thrilled her. To her, love was only a new illusion she could make people believe in. She disguised herself as handsome men, as young men, and caused misery for the women who loved her. Miynie eventually lost herself in illusions and lies. All the stories she made up, all the lies spread, all the appearances she stole. Slowly, but certainly, she forgot who she had ever been. There was no truth anywhere; she saw only illusions and lies.
Deceptive Power
Realising her confusion, Miynie left the mortals and travelled into forests and areas that were not as populated. She found a pond and stared down into it, taking her time. Slowly the illusions weaved off her, and she could stare at her real reflection. There she tried to recall why she had initially landed here. Right there, her followers found her, lead by a man she thought of a tad strange. They had followed her, attempted to track her through the lies and illusions. Now as they finally saw the goddess who she was, more beautiful than they could ever imagine, they were filled with awe, waking Miynie’s everlasting plots and hunger for power. Of course she understood to use this to her advantage.
Miynie gathered her followers into her own little cult, let them spoil her and be inspired by her mere presence. More than this she did not do for a long time, just invoking her power on the followers. They were being considered a bit strange by people, as Miynie had made them swear not to tell anyone of her existence. They were to trust her words for truth and not spread it; very ironical considering that she was thoroughly made of illusions and lies.
It was during these times she ran into Temos, Goddess of Technology. Temos had felt lies and illusions spreading, and had become curious as to what her sister was up to. They met up, ended up in an argument. Temos told Miynie that it was impossible that the mortals could be so fixated on what her illusions created, as what mattered was wit and creativeness. Miynie thought this was ridiculous, explaining that people thought that things they saw and heard were what mattered more in the end, even if no mortal could explain why.
It ended so that Temos and Miynie decided to compete to prove they were right – alas, only one of them could be right. They found a young man of good heritage. He was nearing the age when he had to marry to get his legacy, and had many young ladies as potential candidates. Mysteriously there were only two left, both beautiful to an average level. Temos granted one of them wit and creativeness, innovative ideas and made her an intelligent woman. Miynie gave the other young lady illusive beauty, beyond any comprehension. Even if Temos’ lady was the most witty and entertaining, always full of constructive conversations, entertaining conversations and excellent plans and strategies, and the lord liked her, Miynie’s lady was his choice, as he could not resist her insane beauty. Her illusions faded and the lord was left with the truth behind the lie. Temos, on the other hand, let her lady keep her wits.
They performed several challenges like that and Miynie won each time, except for the final time when the explainable and constant won over the illusion and the fleeting. Miynie, whose hunger for victory had made the fourth and final challenge possible, was furious and gathered her followers. Half of them she turned against all the followers of Temos, let them see Temos’ followers as monsters and demons. Though common sense should have told Miynie’s followers that Temos would not be followed by hordes of demons, they blindly trusted Miynie’s words and what they saw. The little brawl was bloody and horrific even in the small scale it was. Miynie’s followers won, but the illusions on the opponents had fallen, and they realised that they had been fooled by the goddess. Of course, Miynie had counted this in and snared the rest of her followers with more lies, had them kill those who had just found Temos’ followers.
Lies, Lies Everywhere
After her final display of power that granted her victory, at least if you were to ask her, Miynie vanished again. She kept on wandering the earth for centuries, occasionally appearing only to vanish again. People relatively frequently imagine they have seen her in a shape or other, but truth is that not even half of these sightings are genuine. Miynie has not been considered evil or the like, but she seems to have preferred her own company for centuries.
On rare occasions, so called Chosen have turned up, claiming they have been personally sent by Miynie, but other than that nothing has been heard from the Goddess.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Personality
Miynie’s powers have got the best of her over time and even if she usually does not act in any way hostile, one should be wary about trusting her. Miynie stands up for what she believes, and the general opinion is that she does whatever gains herself in the first place. She has no problems with lying or deceiving, wounding or killing if she believes it will gain her. Whilst Miynie can be a treacherous might, she is not ruthless or generally filled with malice. She has her goals and her ambitions, and it the way of those you do not wish to stand.
In a conversation, you could be surprised by the wit she possesses, even if she does not necessarily stand for intelligence. She is by no means wise, her actions often naïve, but fooling the Deity of Illusions is a near impossibility. Miynie is a pleasant person to be around in casual situations, never inquiring too much about you whilst still being personal enough to please and intrigue.

The Quarter
The Quarters are the most obvious followers of Miynie, their name gained from the supposed quarter of the original followers that survived her schemes to show her power to Temos. The Quarter has different classes, some secret and some visible to the public eye. The Quarter is always lead by three sisters, called the Three Quarters. The final Quarter is supposedly Miynie, whenever she decides to return to her followers, which is the strong belief of the Quarter, ever waiting for the return of their Goddess.
The Quarter educates those less fortunate in society; the only thing you need to be taken in is potential. Many of the Quarter exist on the grey side of morale so to say, often thieves, prostitutes, but also people with a high position in society. Whilst some classes in the Quarter are scholars and academics, others are classes of violence and criminals. The only thing the Quarter does not accept, it blatant stupidity.
Each of the Three Quarters leads a flank of the Quarter, in which the classes exist. For an example, the Quarter of Tricks leads those that focus on more criminal activities, and this First Sister’s identity is secret, the whole First Quarter secretive along with it. The Second Sister leads the Quarter of Illusions, supposedly the division for wealthier worshippers, aiming to maintain beauty and illusions in higher social classes. The Third Sister leads the Quarter of Lies, where academics and the like have their classes. Belonging to this part of the Quarter is a great honour and your membership is highly secret, even if the Third Sister is visible to the public eye. The Quarter of Lies can be found manipulating everything from a King’s decisions or a village’s vote on what field to harvest first.
The last Quarter is the Quarter of Shine. Every once in a while Chosen individuals make themselves known to the Quarter and it is believed that these are under the direct influence of Miynie. Some of those claiming to be Chosen have turned out to be mad frauds, but the majority have possessed knowledge or skills that have convinced Sisters through the ages that they were genuine. The most famous Chosen is Gregory of the Cloak, named so as he supposedly brought the legendary Three Cloaks of Miynie to the Quarter.

The Three Cloaks of Miynie
The cloaks are stuff of legends, but they are by some believed to be genuine. They are supposed to grant the wearer complete invisibility, whilst others claim that they give the wearer any illusions she desires. This has lead to the belief that especially the Quarter of Lies support; each of the three cloaks hold a different power. No one, however, knows what the last cloak hold for a power and the conspiracies around it are wild subjects of conversation within the Quarter.
As of now, the location of any of the Cloaks is unknown.
